Well, according to Consumer reports (www.consumerreports.org/cro/babies-kids/school-age ), a baby between the ages of 9 and 18 months should enjoy, "Lightweight balls, nesting and stacking blocks or cups with rounded edges, pop-up toys that require sliding, toggling, pulling, and turning, squeeze and bath toys, soft dolls, puppets, and baby books, musical toys, and toy telephones and push-pull playthings."

These all help with things like motor skills and hand/eye coordination. And since the IQ Baby Busy Box seems to have a lot of those things, my guess is that it would help with a toddler's development. Of course, there a lot of things that would help and many of them do not cost just under $40.
