You can take real estate courses as soon as you are 18 years old. My advice is to interview several Real Estate Brokers in your area to help you decide what company you'd like to work with. There are many different types of companies, some will charge you for your 'desk space' (a lot of money in some cases) but will let you keep 100% of your commissions. Most will give you free desk space but will take about 50% of your commissions. This is pretty normal and it is the way I work. The broker you choose will tell you where to go to get your training courses. Also, some comapanies are pretty strict about you working full time whereas others are very flexible and don't require any set times. Also interview agents from different companies, they will tell you some honest truths about what they like and dislike about their own company and the competition. Just remember they are all in competition with each other, so take each piece of advice with that in mind. Another option for you right now is to volunteer at the office that you choose. You can learn a lot about the business and help some busy agent with stuffing envelopes or something. Ask lots of questions while you're there. You'll be in a really good position to launch your business when you finally do get your license! Good luck!
