how do i talk to my dad about collage when we just got on wellfair?

me and my had have worked all our lifes to keep our houses going my mom wasn't really in the picture i had to raise my brother. Well my dad and i don't have the time to work any more. with him retiering and getting married and me going to school and getting new siblings. I have no idea how to bring up collage when we're hurting when it comes to money?

# of Thumbs Up Received (77)		 You didn't mention what grade you're in but it's never too early to start planning. There is a lot of financial aid available, you just have to apply. The ones I'm thinking of are based on financial need, and it sounds like you'd definitely be eligible. Talk to your school counselor about how to apply for student grants and loans. There's something called College Goal Sunday in February that helps families fill out the online applications that works for various federal grants. The application is called FAFSA (don't ask me what it stands for!), and you fill it out your Senior year. You can do it on your own, too. Don't give up! Going to college will make a $1,000,000 difference in your life-time income over what you'd make with only a high school diploma! Go for it!!

# of Thumbs Up Received (10)		 I agree with the information from LizinHolt about need-based aid. Also, you want to work at keeping your grades up, so that you might be eligible for scholarships. You will want to start applying for scholarships the summer before your senior year in high school.
