avatarAnonymous Students write research papers to present information that support a point of view(s) on a particular topic. Writing a research paper allows students to delve deeply into a topic by borrowing information from other people in order to prove your points. However, any time you borrow information from another source, you must show in your paper where you found the information. This is called “citing or “referencing;” not to do so is called “plagiarism,” and it is illegal to plagiarize someone else’s work or ideas.
