avatarAnonymous I went online and Googled "how to get a book published" and there are tons of websites that can help you. You just need some money to get started. Also, be careful that you aren't selling any rights to your book, only having someone publish it. Good luck!

There are lots of books about working with publishers, but with today's technology more and more people are self-publishing and there are some books on that now too. It's a good way to start; that's because it can also be a way to get noticed by publishing houses if you're book takes off.

Self-publishing can be as simple as printing it out and handing it to someone. But other ways to do it include:

1. Posting some each week on a blog or other space.
2. Using Amazon to take and fullfill orders for printed copies.
3. Using a self-publishing printer to produce 1,000 copies for maybe $5,000 and then selling them at events or through local stores.
4. Taking orders for an ebook which you can email to people as a Word or PDF document.

Whatever route you go, the big question is about how to build an audience and get your content to them.

You should do this. Whether you meet your goals or not, you'll learn a lot along the way that will help you with your next project.

Please, please be careful before you self-publish. There are legitimate self-publishers out there but there are also a lot that run scams and will simply take as much of your money as they can and give you a poor product in return.

You may want to consider finding a writer's group that will read what you've written and offer constructive criticism on what you can do to improve what you've written. They can also often help you find a publisher or at least give good suggestions on where to submit your work.

You might want to try a traditional publisher, but it will require a lot of patience. Right now there have been several successful books written by teenagers, which has made publishers more receptive than they have been in the past. Just make sure that your approach to them is professional. Research how to write a cover letter and what kind of book each publisher publishes.

Good luck!
