And to any student, I say this: don’t even think about dropping out of school. Dropping out is quitting on yourself, it’s quitting on your country, and it is not an option – not anymore. Not when our high school dropout rate has tripled in the past thirty years. Not when high school dropouts earn about half as much as college graduates. ~President Barack Obama

As a former teacher, I think that I really admired teachers who treated students with the same respect that was expected of those students. I also think teachers should be able to apply what they are teaching to "real world" examples. Teachers should also expect hard work and responsibility from their students

Personally, I think that a good teacher is one who cares about what her students are doing outside of class as well as in class. What kind of issues a student has at home and with friends can greatly effect a student's ability to perform in class. Treating students each as individuals is a very good quality to find in a teacher.
