Parents have a right to expect:

  • Clear, correct and complete information about the school and the child's progress during K-12 grades
  • Confidentiality of information about the child
  • Clear understanding of the processes to gain access to the appropriate school officials, to participate in decisions that are made and to appeal matters pertaining to her child
  • Sensitivity to language and cultural differences (inclusiveness)
  • The opportunity to observe the child at school
