It depends on the chore, but I encourage my child to help when appropriate.

My child has regular chores like making his bed or cleaning up his toys that must be done every day.

4) In raising your child, how much emphasis do you put on manners and respectful treatment of others?

A great deal. I insist that my child use proper manners and treat others with kindness and respect.

Quite a bit. I consistently show my child how to behave properly, but I know there are times when I forget to ask for a "please" or a "thank you."

Some. I remind my child to use proper manners and to be nice to others, but there are probably parents who insist more than I do.

A little. It's important for my child to be nice to others but in our family, we don't insist on formal manners.
