March 2009: Does the Thought of Spring Break Make You Cringe?

Great advice for all ages: Anyone preparing to travel with children of any age should read this great article. It includes tips on planning for travel, from choosing a hotel to protecting your home before you leave.

Birth to Preschool: Whether you are traveling by car or by plane, toddlers are probably the hardest age group to travel with. These two articles will help make the trip go as smoothly as possible.

Elementary School: Whether because of the economy, or other reasons, you have chosen not to travel this Spring Break. Here are some suggestions for things that you can do close to home for virtually no cost.

Middle School: Want to go somewhere that offers educational opportunities, rich cultural heritage, and room to run off that extra energy? Then why not visit one of America’s many national parks?

High School: Whether in your hometown or another state, you can plan a trip to a museum that will be enjoyable and educational for you and your teenager (we promise).

College: Perhaps your college student can’t make it for this family vacation because of mid-terms or other commitments; you can still let her know you’re thinking of her. Forward this article to her at school for some practical advice on making it through the second semester.

We’ll see you next month for the April edition of the Parents’ Newsletter when we’ll be talking about safety issues that affect each of our school age groups.
