You might want to set up an appointment with your high school's guidance counselor, who should have a lot of information about 'careers for the future.' Being an art teacher isn't typically a big field, so openings aren't as plentiful. But quality education and teaching are critical to our children's futures, and educating our kids about art is just as important as some of the primary skills. So it's a worthwhile field, no matter what.

Call your school district and talk to the superintendant. Ask him/her what the history of hiring art teachers has been in the past and what he/she sees for the future...the next 20 years.

avatarAnonymous I don't think art will be as important as some other fields of study, but if u are looking for a job for the money i think that i would go with something else and have art as a minor in college. I would also keep art in my life because it might become helpful later. Go to college for one thing and then come back to college in the future when u have more money to spend on guessing.
