It's hard to be a teenager looking for a job in Michigan these days. You're competing with lots of unemployed adults for the same jobs. If you're only 15, your chances are complicated by the fact that you don't yet drive, so you have to rely on public transportation or a ride or your own feet to get to work.

You might want to try to create your own job-- mowing lawns for neighbors, housesitting or petsitting for people on vacation, babysitting or being a "mother's helper" for the summer, walking dogs, running errands for an elderly neighbor, even tutoring younger kids in your neighborhood so they're ready to go back to school in the fall.

If that doesn't work, at least try to find some volunteer work. Often, a volunteer job can turn into a paying job later, plus, the people you volunteer now for can provide you with a job reference later.

I totally concur with the previous answer. However, I would also check opportunities online. There are several web sites targetting this specific area, one recommenadtion they have is to try restaurants. One of these websites is:

Just be cautious and do not pay anything to anyone for "potential possibilities."

Apply everywhere that you can get an application. I've heard about places that only hire at 16 but take a 15-year-old cuz they don't notice, or because they're the best option. Be reasonable, of course, but basically apply apply apply! Best of luck!
