what if a student is very behind failing 10th grade?

MY SON HAS NOT BEEN DOING GOOD IN SCHOOL. SINCE IVE BEEN TO SCHOOL MEETINGS, ALL I GET IS THAT MY SON NEEDS IMPROVE GRADES OR HE WILL BE SENT TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL. I ASKED IF THERE WERE LOWER LEVEL CLASSES, THEY SAID NO. MY SON SAIDS HE IS NOT ABLE TO CONCENTRATE IN CLASS AND THAT HE IS TOO FAR BEHIND
AND THEREFORE SAYS HE CANT DO IT. SOMETIMES I THINK HE MAY BE SAYING THE TRUTH. WHAT SHOULD I DO AS A PARENT?

Question applies to ages: 15

If you truly believe your son has done everything he can to improve his grades, and you've already talked to his teachers, it's time to take your concerns to the next level. If you haven't contacted his counselor, you should start there. If you have already talked to his counselor and received no help, a phone call to the principal of his school would be a good idea. If you don't get any answers from the principal, take your concerns to the superintendent of schools. If your state has a "No child left behind" policy, you can use that to your benefit. The principal should be able to help you come up with a plan that involves some effort from your son and his teachers. They both have to be willing to work together.
