how do i make my 6 yr old son concentrate on studies

He is very playful. He is playing with rubber pencils while studies. He is lost in thoughts while writting exams. Leaves questions unattemped inspite of knowing answers.

Question applies to ages: 6

avatarAnonymous He's is only 6, right? What kind of studies could he possibly have? The rule for homework is 10 minutes for each year of school your child is in. If your child is in first grade, then he should be doing NO more than 20 minutes of homework a night. And that doesn't have to be done all at once. Break it up a little bit, make it fun.

Also, make sure his "study" area is free of distractions and that you are right there to keep him on track. At his age, he can't keep himself as focused as we'd like. He needs much reminding and encouragement. But please don't make homework a horrible experience for him now, it will only make him more likely to hate it when he gets older.
