I don't think that there is a big job market for singing accountants, but there is no reason why you could not be both an accountant and a singer. Many adults work in a particular career, then have an artistic hobby on the side that fulfills that area of their personality--whether it's singing, acting, figure skating, or art. I'm a writer and also a singer; some of the people I sing with are teachers, economic analysts, graphic designers, and computer programmers.

To help you achieve your goal, look at colleges that have both accounting and music programs, then find out if non-majors can participate in the music program. Often at smaller schools, they are happy to welcome non-music majors into both the vocal and instrumental music courses. Some may even offer scholarships to non-majors. For instance, my son is majoring in mathematics and computer systems; he also sings in the chamber choir and has a music scholarship in addition to his leadership and academic scholarships.

Life is about more than having a job, so college should also be about more than your major. By finding a way to do all the things you love, you'll be happier and more fulfilled in the long run.
