avatarAnonymous The best place to being inquiring about financial aid is through the website of the college/university that your sons are at/looking at. Many offer a website dedicated to the types of financial aid that they offer. While many will use federal and state resources, some do not and offer student financial aid solely from their institution.

Some other "general" options include the Federal Department of Education website (www.ed.gov/finaid/landing.jhtml?src=rt) as well as the website of your local state as they may provide aid to students as well. The FAFSA website (www.fafsa.ed.gov) provides information on the universal application that most schools require when applying for financial aid.

The advice you've been given in the other answer is great-- those two Web sites are the best place to get basic information on Federal and college-based financial aid.

In addition, if you are looking for other scholarships or ways to pay for college, you might want to look at www.finaid.org This Web site lists thousands of scholarships for you to review, all for free, and has some good explanations about financial aid.

The Web site www.meritaid.com will also show you some scholarships your children may qualify for based on their grades.
