My Mom treats me like I'm nothing! What should I do to let her know this is hurting my feelings and pushing me of focus of what I am doing?

My Mom had me a age 17. And I think she blames me because she thinks I ruined her life when she had me. She wasn't able to go to prom and all the other things senoirs in high school do. I don't understand why she is treating me this way.

Question applies to ages: 14, 15, 16, 17, 18

Sometimes i feel the same way because my mother had me at a young age and sometimes i feel as though she was unhappy by the way that things turned out. But everything happens for a reason. Just pray about it and everything will be ok. If i were you i would talk to her and tell her exactly how you feel without holding any grudges. If your mother dosent show you no respect, talk to someone that you are really close to. But overall i hope it works out for the better

I had my first child at 19 and being a teenage mom is really hard. Chances are the person she is really mad at is your dad! Everything about you that reminds her of him is probably making her angry, sad and resentful. You seem to have a really good head on your shoulders and I'm really sorry that you are going through this. One thing that you might try is softly and lovingly letting your mom know you understand her feelings. Let her know how much you love her and that you want your relationship to be stronger. Ask her to talk to you about her feelings even though it's really your feelings that are hurt. She can't see beyond her pain right now in order to be able to see yours, so don't focus on you-focus on her. Cry with her and give her the love that she is obviously missing in her life and maybe it will help her to see you as a friend instead of the enemy. She does love you, more than you'll ever know. She will see that eventually, just give her some time. Try not to be angry back just be loving. It might just work some little miracles!

avatarAnonymous i think you should just sit her down and tell her how you feel. she should know that it was her choice to have you at such a young age. but do it delicatley. just let her know that its hurting you feelings and most likely it will stop.
