you don't say how old you are, but if you are wanting to tutor third and fourth graders, you are probably in high school.

If there is a place in your apartment building where you can post noticies, you might create a flyer and post it, listing what kind of tutoring services you plan to offer and how much you will charge, and whether you would be tutoring children individually or in groups. Make sure that all the words are spelled correctly and that the flyer looks neat and professional, so that parents will have a good first impression of you.

You could also put together an informational packet about yourself and your tutoring service and got to the families in your building with kids and introduce yourself to the parents.

This packet should include information on who you are, what other experience you have had tutoring, what your GPA is and what your strongest subjects are, and also, letters of recommendation from teachers or administrators at your school who know you well, or perhaps from parents of other kids you have tutored or teachers at a school where you have volunteered.

If your apartment building has a community room or clubhouse area, you might see about getting permission from the management to offer a mini-summer school type tutoring group in the summer so that kids don't lose skills over the summer vacation--maybe an hour a day, three days a week, and have a little class. That would be an easy way to earn money and still have plenty of free time for yourself this summer.

Good for you for having an entrepreneurial spirit and wanting to use your talents to earn money.
