The bottom line is that no government policies will make any difference unless we also hold ourselves more accountable as parents. Because government, no matter how wise or efficient, cannot turn off the TV or put away the video games. Teachers, no matter how dedicated or effective, cannot make sure your children leave for school on time and do their homework when they get back at night. These are things only a parent can do. These are things that our parents must do. ~President Barack Obama

My son is learning to self feed and has started gagging himself!

I am not sure if it is because he fists food into his mouth or if he may be teething. I am almost sure it is because of the teething but I am not willing to stick my finger in his mouth unless I have to. Is this something he will stop? I have to take his food away sometimes because he does it constantly and I fear he will vomit. It totally freaks me out!

I'm not exactly sure how teething would cause a child to gag. If he has enough food on his plate that he can shove fistfuls of it into his mouth, perhaps you might want to try giving him less to deal with at a time. For example, if he's eating Cheerios, only give him two or three at a time. I'm sure he'll improve with practice. Good Luck!
