There are some types of information that schools have the right to disclose. You didn't mention what information they sent out or who they sent it to. You're obviously concerned, so make an appointment to talk to the school principal to find out why they did what they did, and why they thought they had the right to do it.

If you believe they broke the law, of course you should seek the help of a qualified attorney. But it may be a misunderstanding that you can clear up with the school.
