Do you think you could be more specific? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by a high school setting...there are so many different high school settings (i.e. classroom setting, special education classroom, lunch room, hallway, etc.). Also, what kind of discipline referrals? Remember, the more information you give, the better we can help you. Thanks!

It is very helpful if there is a uniform policy for behavior that all teachers, administrators and support staff adhere to in a school setting , and that students know the behavior code and its expectations.

Understanding student motivation and engagement and how to capitalize on that can also create environments where fewer discipline problems occur.
