What do you wish someone had told you earlier about how to succeed in school?

I learned a lot of things the hard way. For instance, I wish someone had told me to take more advanced math while you're in high school, because it would have made college a lot easier for me.

I also wish someone had told me ealier not to care about being popular. If you're spending your time worried about whether or not you're cool, you're not. That took me a while to learn, but my life was so much happier once I did.

Let's swap advice. What do you wish someone had told you?

Question applies to ages: 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18

I wish that someone would have told me to be more social in school because it would have made the six hour days go by faster but also that not having your friends in your classes is not the end of the world.

I wish that someone had told me that the reason to do homework is that is the method used to learn 70% of the subject matter material. The other 30% is learned in class. The percentages vary according to the teacher and subject matter. You can see that if you don't pay attention in class, you must depend much more on your homework. If you don't do your homework, your chances of passing any tests or exams are lessened.
