Parents are children’s first and most influential teachers. By reading to children or having them read to us, by making sure homework is done, by monitoring television use, by knowing how children spend their time, parents can have a powerfully positive effect on their children’s learning. ~U.S. Secretary of Education

Hi: The library section of this website has hundreds of great articles about easy, low-cost activities using materials you probably already have around the house. Try searching for "toddler activities" to see what comes up.

We also have stories grouped together, originally published in our Start magazine, intended for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5. "Guide to Buying the Best Toys" can be found at www.EduGuide.org/S16, and "Guide to Making the Most of Summer" can be found at www.EduGuide.org/S14. Our most recent issue, "Guide to Quality Child Care," will also be available within the next week or so at www.EduGuide.org/S18. All three issues have tried-and-true tips for keeping little ones busy and happy!
