Physical development in baby is a process with many baby development stages. Your baby's control starts with her head and moves down to her feet.
She learns to control her trunk first, then her hands and feet. Babies reach the milestones of rolling, sitting and crawling at different times, but they all go through the same steps to get there:
- Holding up her head and neck
- Using her arms and hands
- Using her body, legs and feet
Child development research should reassure you that If your baby seems to be developing more slowly than the kid next door, you needn't fret. She has a lot to learn and accomplish -- things like listening and talking, holding and playing with toys and sitting and crawling. When she slows down in one area, she may be working hard in another.
The only time you may have a concern is when she seems to be slow in more than one area. If she is, don't wait. Talk to your doctor.
