When you're travelling, remember to play it safe:

  • Around age 4, many children outgrow their old toddler car safety seats. But they never outgrow a need to be safe while traveling. Remember: The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children under the age of 12 ride in the rear seat if the vehicle has a passenger-side air bag.
  • Booster seats can be a good choice for children from 4 to 8 years of age (60 to 70 pounds). Look for models that meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (they will have a label saying so). Always follow the advice and instructions provided by the seat's manufacturer.
