EduGuide Is Your Family’s Key to College Success

EduGuide helps college-bound students learn what they need to know to keep their balance once they hit campus. From what to do to prepare for college while still in high school to how to make new friends once you’re on campus, EduGuide will give it to you straight.

October 13, 2008 – Lansing, MI – EduGuide is offering students and parents the opportunity to download a free copy of College EduGuide, an online publication (www.EduGuide.org/college) that details strategies for becoming and staying a successful student. It also gives tips on how to save money on student loans. Much of the “things I learned in college” content is written by recent college students. Students want to know what is the importance of a good education? Their parents want to know, “What potentially dangerous things can happen to my kid once he gets to campus?” EduGuide tries to prepare parents and students for all of it.

When asked what college freshmen can do to prepare for college, Janet Fowler, co-administrator for the Alma Adult and Alternative High School in Alma, Michigan stated, “Focus on the goals they have set for themselves, be responsible for their actions.” She also said that the best tip to help freshmen deal with all the stress of finances that first year is to talk with their parents and counselors.  “Students need to make sure they understand how loans and financial aid works,” Fowler said.

EduGuide is a national nonprofit organization that provides many guides, tools, and resources to help parents make the most of their children’s education, from cradle to college.
